We had the opportunity to provide the coating for the new entrance of the Infinity building in Amsterdam (also known as the Klapschaats or the Kruimeldief).
As we have nothing to add to the news article that appeared on the blog of Adviesgroep BouAd, we will simply republish it below:
"At the beginning of June, the new entrance of the Infinity building (formerly ING House) on Amstelveenseweg in Amsterdam was put into use. The entrance, designed by MVSA Architects, is a complex structure. The challenge lay in the transition from the legs of the canopy, which flow smoothly into the horizontal plane. The twists in two directions could not be executed, or not with sufficient quality, using standard materials such as aluminum façade cladding or façade plasterwork.
Ultimately, in consultation with contractor BAM HABO bv, it was decided to construct the entire canopy in wood and then finish it with a polyurea coating. This coating is extremely strong and flexible, which made it possible to provide guarantees on the finish even in black. Nowadays, this coating is used in many different applications, such as exterior façades, street furniture, and truck beds.
With this realization, the Infinity building now has an entrance worthy of the building."
