In the exhibition ‘Water Power’ at Science Center NEMO, visitors discover how to extract as much energy as possible from water. The exhibition ‘Waterrijk’ already allowed visitors to experience what is involved in the drinking water purification process. This has now been expanded with an interactive game about the battle against water.
No matter how normal it may seem to the Dutch, having dry feet and living safely is not something to be taken for granted. By playing the game ‘Battle Against Water’, visitors discover for themselves how to manage water resources wisely and how to prevent flooding. By using pumping stations, they can drain sections of land, or by raising dikes, they can ensure that the land does not flood.
This new part of the exhibition was developed with the support of partners Waternet and Water Board Amstel, Gooi and Vecht, and designed in collaboration with Monobanda PLAY and our client Perspekt Studio's.
Kunststof Coatings Nederland provided the polyurea coating for this special ‘water table’ so that the surface is perfect for the projected ‘game’ and will not be damaged by the hundreds of visitors who are allowed to ‘play’ with it every day.
