Steel is used as a construction material in yacht building because of its strength, easy workability, and watertightness. While steel is a particularly versatile construction material, it does oxidize. The most common form of this is rust. Under the influence of (salt) water and oxygen, steel reacts to form iron oxide. This can be prevented by properly protecting the steel and thus sealing it off from water and oxygen. Our polyurea synthetic coating is an effective solution for this.
